Check Out Our Newest Cosmetic Procedures

At About Faces Cosmetic Surgery, we’re constantly researching the newest techniques for making our clients in Tucson feel and look refreshed with youthful results. We would like to let you know what our newest services include.RF microneedling for acne scarsThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration has cleared radio frequency (RF) microneedling to treat acne scars. RF microneedling is also an excellent treatment for surgical scars, fine lines, sun damage and large pores. It’s a minimally invasive treatment that requires no downtime and rejuvenates the skin by stimulating collagen production. Severe acne scarring can bring serious physical and psychological distress to adolescents and adults. Microneedling uses microneedles to treat the depths of the skin, which promotes dermal collagen production. Microneedling, a nonionizing electromagnetic radiation, has been used for medical purposes for over two decades. Unlike other laser treatments that target specific cell groups, RF can go deeper into the skin, safely, and treat darker skin types. It’s also shown to have significantly less inflammation or discoloration after treatment than other laser treatments. In one study reported in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, patients overwhelmingly showed great improvements after treatment, nearly 81%, with the rest of the patients reporting good improvement. Restylane Lyft for aging handsRestylane Lyft has been shown to be a safe, effective and dissolvable filler not only for cheeks, but hands, too. You can get your hands and cheeks filled at the same appointment for a more youthful appearance immediately. The FDA has approved Restylane Lyft for use on hands, which makes it the first injectible of its kind to receive government approval for use outside the face. As we age, our hands lose some of the fat and muscle tone that makes them look youthful as the bones, tendons and veins become more prominent. Restylane Lyft restores that plump, youthful look as it does for lips, wrinkles and contouring the face. Meet Agnes RFAgnes RF can give you a mini facelift, tighten skin and smooth wrinkles to make you look younger and more refreshed.Agnes RF is a non-surgical radio frequency treatment that erases eye bags, tightens and removes fat from the neck and jowl area and even treats cystic acne by removing the oil gland that causes acne and blackheads—without surgery. Agnes RF was approved by the FDA in 2017 and has been a popular treatment for non-surgical facelift procedures throughout the United States. As we mentioned earlier, one of the best things about radio frequency is that it treats all skin colors, so it doesn’t matter if you’re dark complected or have a tan. It also doesn’t heat the skin as a laser does, which helps with after-treatment care.Plasma Pen for jowls and mouth wrinklesPlasma Pen is a new skin-tightening technique that tightens and reduces skin with a micro-millimeter-sized pulse of “plasmic lightning” that causes skin to contract. The process leaves skin looking rejuvenated, natural and more youthful. It’s good for reducing excess skin, especially around eyelids and under the eyes.Do you have crow’s feet? Plasma Pen can reduce wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, smoker’s lines, scar tissue and fine lines on the neck, chest (crepey skin) and other body areas.Over time, the fibroblasts can produce new collagen and elastin, making your skin look refreshed. And, unlike other skin ablation techniques, Plasma Pen leaves no open wounds to heal, which means minimal risk of scarring, infection or discoloration. The results are permanent, because the body’s normal healing process has been activated. Several treatments may be necessary to achieve the results you desire. If these or any other of our non-surgical and surgical cosmetic procedures interest you, schedule a consultation today with Dr. Mikel Lo and his talented, professional  staff, including 2 trained nurse injectors, at About Faces Cosmetic Surgery.
