Almost anyone can benefit from the RF microneedling procedure. Since the patented technology is based on radio waves, it is not affected by skin color so RF works on all skin types. RF microneedling should not be considered if you are pregnant or lactating, have a defibrillator, metal implants, pacemaker, auto-immune disease, cancer, or skin disease.

RF microneedling treatments are quick and tolerable, and while your appointment will be scheduled for about an hour, the actual treatments taking between 10 to 20 minutes depending on the size and condition of the area being treated. A topical numbing agent is used for patient comfort which takes about 30-minutes to take affect. During the treatment, your clinician will move the hand-piece across the face and neck, treating with multiple passes if needed. The hand-piece includes a sterile tip with 25 non-insulated microneedles which distribute the RF energy into the skin. This delivery creates an electrocoagulation of soft tissue and generates the creation of dermal collagen and elastin fiber in the epidermal and dermal layers of the skin. While most patients can’t feel the treatment, there are some areas of the face which can be more sensitive than others with a slight pinching or stinging feeling that subsides after the treatment. RF microneedling treatments are not only highly effective, but also incredibly time efficient.

RF microneedling treatments have little to no downtime and no side effects. Mild redness and slight swelling can be expected for a few hours after your treatment. Patients often report the skin feeling warm, like a mild sunburn. For the first few days post-procedure, patients will be instructed to use basic skin care. Most patients are able to return to any regular activities immediately after the RF treatment.

Some tightening results will be visible immediately, with the full results of the dermal rebuilding appearing over time as the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin begin to regenerate. Most of our patients can expect measurable results to appear gradually in the following 3-4 months. For best results, we recommend a minimum of 3- treatment sessions every 6-weeks. Depending on your skin condition and individual lifestyle, results can last 6-months to a year, with touch-up treatments helping to maintain the results over time.
