Blepharoplasty will remove the excess skin and fat of the lids. Bags and puffy skin are removed and wrinkles are softened. The procedure will give a more youthful appearance for many years. Blepharoplasty is done by making a small incision above or below the eye, from which fat deposits and excess skin are removed. The sutures are hidden in the natural folds of the eye. Recovery is one week and patients tell us it is easy to recover from this procedure. Dr. Lo is one of the few fellowship-trained ophthalmic plastic surgeons—or oculoplastic surgeons—in the country, having trained in both cosmetic surgery and ophthalmology. He has significant expertise in this area. Because of the importance of vision, many patients choose to have their eyelid surgery performed by him to get the best outcome.
Eyelid Ptosis Repair (Eye Lift)
A droopy eyelid is referred to as blepharoptosis. It is caused by a separation of the inside muscle of the eyelid from its natural attachment. Eyelid ptosis repair repositions the eyelid to the appropriate level. While patients often confuse this with a blepharoplasty, no skin is removed in this procedure. Recovery is 1 week. This is an extremely delicate procedure that should only be performed by an ophthalmic plastic surgeon, with a great deal of experience in this area, like Dr. Lo.
These injections are done around the eyelid area to decrease the appearance of wrinkles between the eyebrows or under the lower eyelid, or in the area where crow’s feet appear. This office procedure has no downtime and Dr. Lo is an expert at shaping the brows and eyelids.
This medication was initially used for glaucoma, but later found to stimulate eyelash growth. Typically it takes 6-12 weeks before longer lashes are noted. This therapy is done at home and has no downtime.
